When you use our website
We do not collect personal data from your general use of our website. This means we cannot identify you as an individual from the data we process unless you provide that information by deliberately contacting us.
We do use a third party service, Google Analytics, to provide anonymised data to help us understand how visitors interact with our website and how we can change and improve it.
A "cookie" is a small data file which a website can store on your computer. They can be used to control how a website shows information to you, remember your preferences and analyse how the website is used.
We use tracking cookies to help us understand how our website is being used so that we can improve it and better serve our customers’ needs. Our cookies do not give us access to your computer and do not reveal your personal information to us.
You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers accept cookies by default, but you can usually modify your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer. Some (“strictly necessary”) cookies just help to make a website usable, for example by providing navigation, storing information between one webpage and another, enabling secure delivery of information or protecting against malicious attacks. Links to other websites
Our website may contain links to other websites of interest, but we do not have responsibility for, or control over, third party websites. You should make sure you are happy with the privacy notice provided by the relevant data controller for any website you visit.
When you contact us
If you call, email or write to us, use our website contact page, or respond to our advertising, we will make a record of the information you give us ("contact details"), potentially including your name, phone number, email address and postal address and, in some cases, the IP address used to send emails. We may transfer the contact details you provide to one of our trusted rental and reseller partners.
We use your contact details to understand and respond to your enquiries in our legitimate interest to manage our business.
We use third party services to detect malicious and spam content in emails which are sent to us. They may use IP addresses embedded in your email. This is in our legitimate interest to keep our business secure and efficient.
If we want to use your contact details to send you marketing information, we will ask for your permission (“consent”). We will then only send you marketing information if you agree. You have the right to change your mind at any time and withdraw your consent. You can do this by contacting us directly, emailing us at info@tallix(dot)co(dot)uk with 'unsubscribe' in the subject line or using an unsubscribe link in our marketing emails.
We keep contact details until we think they are no longer necessary or useful, usually 2 years after we have contact from you, or until you withdraw consent. This enables us to follow up any enquiry you have made, conduct business analysis and planning and allows for the possibility of providing further information that may be of interest to you.
When you do business with us
If you ask us to do something prior to entering into a contract, such as creating estimates, proposals or quotations, we may need to process your personal data to respond efficiently and accurately to your request.
If we enter into a contract, for example, if you place or accept an order for products or services, then we may need to process your personal data to fulfil that contract.
The necessity of processing personal data for the potential or actual contract will be the lawful basis for processing in these cases.
We will retain personal data necessary for contracts until any period of contractual responsibility lapses (e.g. warranty, support, NDA), or for our normal period of business record keeping, typically 10 years, whichever is longer.
Who has access to your information
Within our own business, only staff that have a specific reason to access personal data will do so.
We use third party service providers to enable and operate our business, and they may process personal data in accordance with our instructions and their own privacy arrangements which we have approved. This may include IT suppliers, legal and financial service providers, marketing agencies, logistics providers, payment service providers, etc.
We do not sell, rent or transfer personal data to third parties for their own purposes, with the limited exceptions listed below.

We may provide personal data to a third party if required by law, or where we believe it is necessary to enable legal action against anyone damaging or interfering with our business or our customers, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
